Not for everyone.

This isn't for everyone, but for me...this is delicious.
That is all I have to say.

I like this!

Definitely a good track.
Nothing I can say to improve on with it other than change the title to Crystal Waterfall, unless you spelt it wrong purposely.

But 5/5!

garlagan responds:

lol you're right. Now it's fixed =)
Thanks a lot :D

This has been done too much.

This song has been done way too much, especially metal.
I hear nothing that sets this apart from the others.

I DO give you EXTREME points for the talent, effort, arrangement and general flow of the song.
I can't wait to hear your future tracks because you always impress. (Even if this was a mix of the overrated songs.)

Burn7 responds:

I really wanted to get mad at you for this, but I actually absolutely agree. The Zelda soundtrack been done many times before and I have indeed heard better, longer, and much higher quality versions.

What I don't agree with is that your overall judgment is based off of the song being overdone and not the actual content of this particular rendition. Although you gave it bonus points for "talent, effort arrangement and flow", it came secondary to your initial writing off of it being overdone.

I'm not saying that it doesn't deserve a better score from you, all I'm saying is this: There are tons, TONS of Metallica covers on the site. If I was to review one, I would review it based on how good that particular cover sounded and not based off of how many times it had been done already, or how So-And-So's cover was better than that one.

Sorry if this doesn't make the most amount of sense, I'm kinda on pain meds and it's really hard to write an intelligent response when the whole world is spinning.

A little strange

Something isn't sounding right here.
Props for effort.
More for the song.
More for actually mixing Magical 8-Bit better than most.

But I think what lost me was the drums.
Think of how powerful this would sound with bitcrushed rock drums.

DJWesker responds:

Thanks for the feedback.

I still have the FLP file for this project, so I could just tweak the bitcrush, and voila! :D

Everyday

Every day I vote this 5 because you touch the side of Pokemon I shall never venture.
Mostly due to a lack of guitar.

Props to you, good sir.
For Pokemon music needs more attention.

Burn7 responds:

I wish Pokemon got a little more attention. But remaking some Pokemon music is hard work, mostly because the songs go through so many quick key changes and insanely speedy parts that are literally impossible on non-sequenced instruments.

And you could go ahead and hire someone to do the guitar parts, and just mix them into your music. There are plenty of other great guitarists (Most a shit-ton better than I am) on the site who I'm sure would love to collab with you, especially since you're pretty damn good at writing music yourself.

My ears...

I will be quick about this because I hate sounding like a dick.

Mixing.
Drums.
Arrangement.

Maybe, not certainly, but maybe change up some synths.

I love that you chose this song though.
Props for that.

(I am seriously not trying to be mean, I just want to hear what you can do upon fixing this up because I love the original.)

Anthouse21 responds:

Its not supposed to sound like the original... "remix" but thanks anyway if you want the original i can easily make that.

Drums need work.

I know you wanted to capture the beauty in the long but you could have at least included a better style of drumming/percussion.

That's really all I have to say because everything else is fine.

Mitsuray responds:

Thanks a lot for the review and yes, maybe it could have been diferent and less repetitive althou i like it how it is atm.

I would have to change to see how it would go, but still, this was the closest i could get to the original song.

Thanks again for the feedback.

I've killed men to this loop

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, other than a minor loop glitch which is why it gets a whopping 9/10.

Now, a 9/10 is fucking awesome, much like this loop.

Win forever.

kjhsdgf responds:

you are quite gracious, sir
thanks for the comment!

Could be better.

I love the melody, a lot.
That is where all the stars from my vote come from.

However I was not a fan of the drums, the FL drums really kill the track for me, but others seem to enjoy it but consider new drums.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the synths and mixing.
I wouldn't call that 8-bit at all though, 8-bit is directly from an NES through a cartridge called Midines, think about picking it up if you are serious about 8-Bit music.

Things you might consider:
Midines, LSDj, Nanoloop, Famitracker, New drums

Daydream-Anatomy responds:

Thanks for hte advice and the nice comments:]

Awesome.

This song is pretty awesome, as the summery description says.

There were a few notes that were iffy, but that just might be because the last few songs I heard put me out of perspective, haha.

This song is WAY to long though, thus the reason for the 8.
It seems like it is just a midi file with altered VSTs, but that is probably not true.
Seems like =/= is.

At the ending that siren sounding noise really killed the good vibe I had.

Great song, but some parts were iffy. 8/10 4/5

ZakoZaku responds:

Well some notes might have been, but I doubt it. I did use a new program for this, MU Lab. Its long because it actually is 4 parts, a "megamix"(?). And nope, it isnt a MIDI, or was.

And the siren, well the last part was the battle with Wily, guess I should have found a better one, or none at all.

Thanks for your review!

Love 2 poop.
